The 16 yard skip holds 140 to 160 bin bags and typically costs £320 to £480. It is the largest conventional chain-lift skip most firms carry before the range jumps to roll on roll off containers, and it exists almost entirely for commercial light waste.
Warehouse clearances, factory refits and big retail projects use 16 yarders for cardboard, plastics, furniture and fittings. The two metre sides mean loading is by machine, platform or gravity, not by lifting over.
If you are pricing a 16, price the 20 yard roll on roll off too. On many jobs the RoRo's easier loading through a rear door and the extra capacity cost little more, provided the site can take the bigger lorry.
Prices are typical national ranges, always flagged as such, and your postcode moves them. Check the skip hire cost guide for regional detail, or go straight to local firms near you for a real quote.
